Flowers for Pollinators

Pollinators need flowers. Your garden can help.

Bees need nectar and pollen. Butterflies need host plants and nectar. Hummingbirds need tube shaped flowers.

Plant natives. Local pollinators evolved with local plants. Natives do the most good.

Lavender, sunflowers, coneflowers, and bee balm are bee magnets.

Milkweed is essential for monarch butterflies. It is the only plant their caterpillars eat.

Plant a variety that blooms across the whole season. Pollinators need food all year.

Avoid pesticides. They kill pollinators. Use natural pest control instead.

Leave a little wild. A messy corner with weeds is habitat. Pollinators love it.
